I am very delighted to have Myrna and Bob Garrison from Arlington, Texas as our guest speakers. If you attended the Texas convention in 1992, you might recall the most interesting room of milk glass they so graciously brought for display. At that time they were very close to publishing "Imperial Vintage Milk Glass." Other books they have published are: "Imperial's Boudoir, Etcetera" and "Imperial Cape Cod Tradition and Treasure." Bob and Myrna are so very knowledgeable and gladly share their information on many aspects of glass. They are active in several glass clubs both locally and nationally (including ours), and will bring to our convention something for the avid as well as a novice collector. Trust me, friends, you do not want to miss what these two energetic and enthusiastic people have to share!
I am also working on a couple of other projects for you during your stay and will firm this up in March.
I have told you the hotel is DFW Airport Marriott just 2 miles from the airport and 2 miles off the outer loop. You can see it from the highway and no need to worry about transportation to and from the airport.
I spent some time recently with Melissa and Jennifer, the convention coordinators, and am even more impressed than before. The hotel is top notch with inside and outside pools, hot tub, work-out room, gift shop, restaurant, dining room and lobby bar. They also have shipping and receiving (you can ship your glass direct to the hotel).
As mentioned before the room rate is $84.00 single or double and our dinner is $24.00 each.
I have chosen a menu the staff calls "Twilight in Texas" all my favorite stuff. WELL!!! I really must run back out again just to sample their "Texas Buttermilk." I'll report on that in March!
