I have a milk white oil lamp the base is approximatele 5"in diameter and the latern portion is height is about 11" the lantern portion has hand painted leaves and the anterior of the base has the same leaf pattern, however ia am unable to find any numbers or names on the lamp at all . the switch on the lamp resembles a skletal key that enables the lamp to be turn off and on. can you help to determine the approximate time frame this lamp was produced.

I can't believe I found your site. It is so exciting. I didn't learn about the L.G. Wright sale until it was over. I had finally found it and visited once, from MO. I tried to buy a mold then, but the "girls" wouldn't sell. I haven't seen the entire list, but am curious who ended up with "opal open". We probably have the largest collection of it in the world - even have one in milk glass. Is it rare? Also, just ran across the basket that looks like it, but with a few more ribs than the regular ones. Do you know who made the basket, what it is called, and if it came in different colors. We had seen a drawing of it somewhere and have lost our copy in our move to the east coast. Thanks soooooo muuuuch for your site. How awesome!!! Sandy

I started buying "white dishes with lids" at yard sales because I thought they were pretty and wanted them to use for candy containers. Then I found other pieces I liked, bowls, glasses, etc. I now set my holiday tables with my "cheap" pieces and that is how I referred to it. However, since getting on the net and checking things out I found out I am really a collector and my pieces are not so "cheap" ha ha. I even have one piece that I saw on the net for $119.00. It is a pipe ashtray. I had it in the cellar with some nails in it, it is in perfect condition. I think I will enjoy this site and probably will become a member of the society. I look at my pieces a little differently now. I bought most of them for under $1.00.

I never paid much attention to all the milk glass my parents had until I lost my Dad. Lugging all this stuff out to the yard for a yard sale, suddenly I couldn't part with it and wound up shipping it all to my home 5000 miles away! I never realized it was collectible-never knew anything about it until I starting cruising around ebay and happened upon this site. I've got some learning to do! Thanks for helping me get started. Aloha!

After browsing through the site i find it vey informative and interesting... i have told several of my friends about it. I do have one question though... i am unable to find anything which would answer this question for me: I have many pieces of what i believe to be milk glass,is all white glass considered as such, or is there a way to tell the real from the fake?

Wow...after searching the net for days I have finally found a site that offers so many answer to most of my questions. Thank you. When I was younger I loved milk glass, as I seen alot of it in homes of family & friends. After reading an article about milk glass in my favorite magazine just three weeks ago, that brought back a renewed interest, I decided to start collecting it. Although I am still new I already have 12 pieces to my collection. Although, not rare, the pieces are what I believe a good start & they were all affordable because I feel I don't have enough knowledge of the higher priced milk glass pieces to fork out the big bucks for items which may not be worthy. Now that I have found this wonderful site & will be sending in my membership I feel I can now go to antique shops, flea markets, & yard sales with a better understanding of what my heart desires. Again...thank you so much.

So glad to have found you! I inherited my grandmother's considerable milkglass collection and try to use some part of it every day. I have had a shelf built in my kitchen to display some of it, use several pieces as planters, have large bowls that I use for fruit and tomatoes on my kitchen counter. I am very interested in knowing how others use their milkglass to decorate. Thanks again!

I was thrilled to find you.I have just started collecting some milk glass so I don't know very much. I picked up a card about your organization and was so glad to know I could learn some things. I told my friend who has what I consider a lot of milk glass and she wants to join also. I copied the application and you will be hearing from both of us. I liked it when I read how you may come acrossed a piece with a lid and that they may not belong together. I had run acrossed that just yesterday and only one had the Imperial mark. So that confirmed what I had thought. Good Web sight!! Thank you, You will receive my check and application soon. Sincerely, Donna Sembar
