I own two L. G. Wright oil lamps (Lamp #88 and #1217). I don't know if these numbers relate to identification but I still have the tags from the lamps. I was wondering how to place a value on these lamps which are hand painted and signed. Thanks for any help.

I had no idea there was a National Milk Glass Society. My mother had an extensive collection of milk glass that I inherited. Anyone have any help on how to put a value on the collection and perhaps how to sell it?

Trying unsuccessfully to find illustrations/photos and prices of certain blue milk glass pieces. Need ideas for value of collection received as inheritance. Any suggestions as to ease of using site for such are welcome! Seems a well done site but not too 'user-friendly' to a first timer. Thank you.

I discovered this site from the A&E collector show hosted by John Laroquette. Milk glass has kept me interested ever since. I have started a small collection of plates and vases. I remember that my mother had a platter, sugar and creamer and a covered dish in milk glass. Unfortunately, they are nowhere to be found now. I am combing yard sales, estate sales and flea markets to find this stuff. The website displays the pictures well and provides visitors with information on how to research. This is fun! Cheryl Tidd

this is a great site, but i do have a question. i have three milkglass cups (nothing as pretty as the items you have here). i'd like to know what they were used for in the past. i want to use them for drinking, since they look like tumblers, but i want to make sure they weren't used for anything yucky in the past (like urine samples, or the like!). also, what's the best way to clean them thoroughly? I am just looking for a good site that has tha ability to assist in identifying and estimating the value on any given piece of milk glass. For instance, I have some bowls and dishes that I would like to find out more about, but I don't really need or want to go out and buy an expensive book that I will only use one time. Good morning. I found your site this morning via Google's search engine. I have recently come into possession of over 100 various pieces of milk glass as my parents are clearing out a lot of things that they can no longer care for. How do I go about cataloging these items and then finding out their value? Thanks for your time. I enjoyed your site; however, for a novice such as myself, it was difficult to match descriptions to actual objects. I did see the pages with the photos. But, again, as a novice suddenly obtaining a rather large collection, I am unsure as to how to proceed. Any help you have would be appreciated. Thanks again. Bill

I'm 28, I just started collecting milk glass from thrift stores. I saw a few pieces that reminded me of items relatives had when I was a kid, and those were the first items I've purchased. Now I've started inheriting family 'heirlooms'...I'm curious about the worth of some of my pieces; are they just thrift store treasures, or are they collectors items?

I have a question rather than a comment. I am looking for a qualified appraiser to appraise my Imperial milk glass collection. I grew up in Bellaire Ohio and have quite a few pieces that I acquired or that my mother left me. Do you make referrals? I now live in Arlington Texas and noticed your reference to the Garrisons (I believe) who are going to participate in the convention. I thought perhaps they or others might appraise. Thanks Much Jo Ellen Teasdale

I was surprised at all the rare milk glass. My mother passed away this past year and she had alot of milk glass. Some of it is hand painted with little purple flowers. I sent several pieces to her sister in Florida and I have my dining room decorated with the rest. She had a black sugar bowl and creamer and she always told me this was black milk glass. Is there such a thing. I've looked everywhere trying to figure out what it is. I know she got it from my grandmother who I never knew because she passed before I was adopted. I'm now 55 and I know my grandpa passed when I was very young and he was almost 99, so I know this does have some age on it. If you know what it is, I would deeply appreciate it.

At this site I have been looking for a Westmoreland Milk Glass Banana Bowl with what I think is a quilt pattern. Each square looks like a pyramid and it sits on a pedestal about 4-5" high. Wow! I had absolutely no idea of the range of items encompassed by "milk glass". Unfortunately, my small collection which started out simply through garage sales, flea markets, and auctions in Canada pales in comparison. I have a passion for collecting and have several vases from a variety of glass and porcelain companies. Therefore, I naturally started out by collecting white milk glass vases. My first purchase was for my mother and it is a small pedestal candy dish with hearts on the border which I paid $1 Cdn for. I then found a matching one for her and the collection grew into my own. I love your photos and can't wait to buy some reference books to aid me in finding some of the lovely animal dishes and ornate vases! Thank-you so much!
